Depending on her interests, there are so many great books out there. I loved the Chronicles of Narnia at that age. My fourth grade teacher read The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe outloud to us and I was hooked immediately. I still loved the Little House series by Wilder and the Ramona series by Cleary.

Because of Winn Dixie comes to mind. As well as The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Both of those are by Kate DiCamillo.

She might also enjoy Love, Ruby Lavender by Deborah Wiles and Each Little Bird That Sings, also by Wiles.

Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan is great if she likes fantasy. It's the first in a series.

I love the Shadow Children series by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It begins with Among the Hidden. (There are 7 in all.)

From this past year, I absolutely loved Julia's Kitchen by Brenda Ferber, Penny From Heaven by Jennifer Holm, The Road to Paris by Nikki Grimes, and Home and Other Big, Fat Lies by Jill Wolfson.

Make sure to review the books before you allow her to go all out, but I was already halfway through the series by Piers Anthony about Xanth. There are at least 30 titles about Xanth and there are a few themes that schools and some parents don't approve of, but if you want your kids to LOVE reading, and words, they'll love the puns and plays on phrases that Piers builds his entire world from. I would have loved it if someone had given me 'The Source of Magic', the beginning of 500+ years of fictional history and stories. It might be a bit advanced for some children, but if you've raised a mature young sir or lady, they'll have no trouble finding the morals of the stories, which I think are excellent examples of what each of us should aspire to.

I would try any books by Tamora Pierce. However, I would read them first as they do have a little romance but the main characters are girls about 11 in the first books of the series.

Of course, Harry Potter is always good. Phantom Stallion and Heartland are good books if she likes horses.

Has she read the Junie B. Jones series? They may be a little young for her, I'm not sure. My 3rd grader loves them.
