A close friend of mine wants to learn to think more and deeper. Doing things without thinking causes many problems for him in his life (with his wife, for example). Does anyone know if it is possible to change the way of thinking and learn to think in another way, deeper and just more. I understand that the question is not really clear, but maybe someone will be able to give advice? Would be very grateful! Thanks.

Most of the time we react automatically. It takes time to change habits. Yes he can learn to think before he reacts, but it takes time and he will make a lot of mistakes in the meantime. His wife could help him by reminding him when he starts to say or do something stupid. Hopefully she is a reasonable caring person that she could do this and be patient with him. Otherwise he just has to do his best and keep at it.

Perhaps it's not a matter of thinking deeper....but rather simply thinking before speaking &/or doing. Such as, perhaps if your friend would simply ask self, a question or statement before actually using it on another person.
And this answer is about as confusing as your question. ;(

He should count to ten before saying anything at all. This will give him practice in self control.
