w hill, you a dumbass. the fairtax is not a republican idea. it was introduced by linder, yes. however, the fairtax takes no sides. it removes all the tax burden from the poor. read the book. if you so smart, read it and then email me what you think of it.

Just as the Republican "health forest" initiative promotes logging, and the Republican "clear skies" law results in more air pollution, the "fair" tax is anything but fair. It imposes a disproportionate burden on low and middle income people who spend a much larger proportion of their income on goods and services. It's a regressive tax.

The Republican wordsmiths are certainly great at coming up with phrases that mean the opposite of what they do.

Some comedian put it really well - they said 'if they decided to enact a police state in the US, they would call it the Happy Fuzzy Bunny Act'
