Im just curious, my 4 month old son just laughed for the 1st time yesterday while I waved a toy that rattled around. How did all of you out there get your child to laugh? About what age were they?

My daughter would laugh when I danced with her. I'd put on some music and hold her in my arms and just dance all around the house with her. She's 19 months old now and every time she hears music she starts dancing and laughing like crazy. (My child was about the same age as yours when she started to laugh).

Jumping. My daughter laughed about 4 months too when I jumped up in the air and it still makes her laugh to this day (she is 18 months). No idea why but the sounds of a childs laugh is well worth all the jumping around I do!

Every child is different.

Ours laughed from 3 weeks on up.

They laughed at repeated silly sounds, silly faces, itsy bitsy spider poem.

Its a beautiful thing to see them laugh but don't over do with too much laugh inducing behavior with them when they are this young; their nervous system can't handle it.

My daughter started laughing around 4 weeks. I will lay her on her back and act like Im eating her side. She squeals with delight. She also likes getting her feet tickled.

my daughter just turned six months and she gave us her first laugh on christmas day ...... anyhow for some reason she likes playing peek a boo but with really fast movement ..... she jumps so bad .... but the more she jumps .... and the more i laugh while i did it she goes right along ........ so even just laughing alone may work ... good luck !!!!! such a precious thing !!!
