Of course! You wouldn't go 6 weeks without washing your hair, would you? There's no reason why you can't take a shower as soon as you leave the hospital.

Please tell me you have showered in the past 6 weeks, if not, and your infant has cried everytime you hold him/her, there is the reason why. I am the mother of 3 boys, 4, 2, and 4 mos. and I took a shower within 8 hours of having the last one, so please take a REAL LONG SHOWER!! I promise you will feel better.

yes please go take a shower now thats gross unless for some reason your delivery was so horrible that the doctor said no shower until we clear you thats so unhealthy and unhygienic please its ok to take a shower i took my first shower a few hours after delivering my daughter and one the next day and one before i left the hospital and at least every other day when home while she was small then everyday it washes away the smelly dried blood, milk and other crap you get on you so go get clean

Definately a strange one! I had a shower an hour after I gave birth. I must say it was the best shower i'd ever had!!!

You can shower and wash your hair. In some cultures they have beliefs...but health wise its fine.

Yes, it's fine. Unless you've had a C-section you can take a bath. If you've had a C-section, take a shower.

it's not only okay, it is IMPORTANT, and there is absolutley nothing wrong with it, so go right ahead and wash it good and all you want.
