I am tired of no one else stepping up. I am tired of everyone whining and kvetching about America's evil...blah blah blah. Yeah. America is so evil that they are finding drinking water for people in Iraq and restoring their infrastructure. America is so bad that they are training police and leaders to take care of these countries. So stop kvetching and solve the problem your own selves!

You should be ashamed. America was the land of opportunity, of freedom. My own boyfriend and some of my close family members are American. Yes, I do agree that there are times that the American people are damned if they do and damned if they don't. But, come on. American solders gang raping a 14yr old girl. Arresting people who have a little pigment on their skin, indefinitely. Guantanamo Bay. You realize that as a Canadian that if I cross the border and the border officials think that I'm an enemy of the state that they can lock me up without notifying they government. That if my family comes looking for me that they can deny everything? All in the name of national security. ( I know because I know people who work for Canadian immigration) Are we taking our cue for Korea or what. The world was all for if during desert storm. He had no right to invade another country. he was just as bad, and the WHOLE world was on America's side,so what happened. Why after all that did they leave him there to torture and murder and let is sons rape women and children. I'm all for America. But I'm for the America of the old. Not this one that starting to look like all the other countries that we hate because of their lack of morals.

I am absolutely not tired of America being a world leader. America is a beacon of freedom and hope to millions of people world wide and as long as I'm alive I hope it stays that way. Whenever someone, some country etc... is at the top they always take the most criticism, but for me it's no problem. I'll take our liberties (although they are slowly eroding) any day over socialist Canada or Europe. Their slow economies and massive taxes only keep their people from improving their own standard of living. If you want to wait 8 months for elective surgery under socialized medicine move to Canada; I'll take my chances with America's free enterprise system.

If Sweden or Canada would become one, it means our nation has weakened! You want that? I can see clearly that when US gives up that position, China or Russia will likely take that position! Do you want that? Being a leader is tired, but being under a crazy leader is terrible!

Nobody wants you as world leader and everybody will be quite happy to let you step down, but then you will just be a country like Sweden and Canada. There are too many Americans who need to believe they are top dog so I don't expect it to happen too soon.

"Leader"? More like an out of control hall monitor. Sweden and Canada mind their own business, and only intervene in instances of human rights abuses and border disputes- not unilateral invasions of foreign nations.

Sort of !!

If American had kept its hand off the other countries then it would not have been a problem to see it as world leader but unfortunatly its 'war policies " are destroying world peace........For me being a non-american, I do not like Bush givng orders to my president for doing this and that.I don't like American interference in my country's interior matters ! thats realy bugs me !

But the attitude of All world Powers towards the rest of the countries is same........Russia had done the same when it was in power and America is following their footsteps infact have gone much beyond ,unfortunately !

Canada and Sweden are wonderful countries.

But I love America, and truth be told, I'm proud to be an American.

Being the leader comes with such great responsiblilty it's unreal. We never know what's gonna be expected of us next or who we are expected to save from tyranny. I agree with you it's more of a curse than a blessing.
