When you're pregnant...anything and everything that you put into your body ...gets to the baby...

Now...I think spray on tanning is definatly safer than the fake & bake...however...

Is anything that soaks into your skin and makes you change colors like a camelion really safe?

Personally, I would avoid it...

Besides...pregnant women are already beautiful...no artificial colors required!

Yes. It considered a fairly safe form of tanning in pregnancy as long as you cover up some areas. (It is much better than other methods!) but for your specific situation you may want to contact your dr. This website explains it pretty good.
"If you go for a spray tan you will be told that DHA which is the tanning component in the tanning solution is FDA approved and therefore “safe”. The thing which they might fail to tell you (because they don’t know) is that FDA approved DHA for external application ONLY. The industry has not provided safety data to FDA in order for the agency to consider approving it for use on exposure routes (inhaling, or contact with mucous membranes such as in the nose, eyes, lips or genitals), including "misting" from tanning booths. I was in the industry for few years, and as far as I know the permit is still “pending”.
So, if you consider spray tanning in pregnancy, it would be advisable for you to wear panties (and not just a thong), goggles and nose plugs. You should also put a thick layer of gloss on your lips, so that spray does not reach your lips. (I presume keeping your mouth shut is pretty obvious?)"

Well this is something that I never got a clear answer too when I was pregnant. I used to only when I wanted to look really good. For example I used it for a wedding and a family gathering. I didnt use it reguarly though. I bought the Aveda self tanner because it is all natural ingredients. Good Luck

It sure is safe! Recent studies of self tanner have found that it only gets absorbed by the first few layers of skin and has absolutly no risk of it getting absorbed by your body let alone the placenta.
