Ummm - yes. We were there for a month, and I`m sorry to say that there was only one hotel without cockroaches (no, they weren`t the cheapest places), but at least they were always very small in the hotels, and there really weren`t very many at all. I just got good at picking them out because the first place we stayed in was an appartment (empty at the time) which was FULL of grand-daddy ones (I mean 8cm or more) and they could fly. No kidding. Nightmare. In that small town, they even walked around freely on the streets. But in any town that a tourist would ever go to, this wasn`t the case.
If you end up having a gekko lizard living in your hotel room (and maybe a whole family of them), this is GOOD - they eat up all the other creepy-crawlies, even roaches. (`Maybe that`s why they told us it is good luck to have a gekko in your house. Don`t worry, they never fell on us while we were asleep!).
I don`t usually tell all this... but you DID ask......! I hope I haven`t scared you off of a planned vacation or anything. I don`t know of anyone else who met this many roaches there though, so don`t worry. (Just keep your bags closed at night...). Have fun !

I knew a very bad creepy crawly once, he worked in a lovely Indian restaurant in Hammersmith. As far as I know, he still lives over here - so you should be safe from that particular two legged one, at least!

Depending on the areas, in Morocco you can find snakes, sand-snakes, scorpions, spiders (although not dragon sized).. Just make sure you wear the proper attires depending on where you will be.

Yeah, lots ; ranging from two legs to eight. Deet is best for the 6 & 8 legged varieties, however most of them ( and the no legs) keep well away from civilisation. As for the 2 legged variety be as polite as you can - after all it is their country.
