I told him that if he goes ahead with said ballet dancing, he will become a homosexual weirdo with a bulge, and no females will want to make babies with him when he comes into his girlish manhood. Too harsh?

That is BS and you need to be informed that not all male ballet dancer's are gay. I danced for 13 yrs and met many heterosexuals. This may lead into other forms of dance once he gets there. It isn't easy for a boy to break into it and at an older age. So relax and let your brother live his own life without you harshing on his dreams. I bet you have a want that he thinks is stupid and you shouldnt be doing either.

Definitely too harsh. He is what he is and the only thing you have accomplished is making fun of him and making him feel like there is something wrong with himself. You're his big sister and should be looking out for him instead of giving him a complex. I'd apologize to him if I were you and let him know that it's okay for him to want to take ballet.

You know, just because he has an interest in ballet does not mean that he is gay or will be gay! 20/30 years ago they thought that same way about a man of he liked to cook!

Harsh? Just a little? Downright bigotted frankly.
Ballet, and other forms of dance are beautiful expressions of art. People from all walks of life, and all sexualities, both perform in and enjoy it.
Whether or not someone is gay is not affected by whether they choose ballet or not. Get over it, let him do as HE wishes. Let him learn to make his own decisions.

How does a ten year old boy even know what ballet is? Tell him to take a martial arts class it is much more practical and will give him confidence and agility.

Patrick Swayze was a ballet dancer, do you think of him like that. Yes too harsh and uncalled for.

yes, that is so cruel for you to do that. Do you know that some professional football players take ballet to help them with their moves. That was very shallow and narrowminded of what you said. Sorry, but you asked and you should expect to get all kinds of opinions. this is mine.

I would say that is too harsh. If he really wants to do ballet, let him do it. It's his choice, and I don't think it helps to tease him. Support him instead! =D

Are you really that closed minded? There are a lot of male dancers (ballet) that are not gay, they have wives and children.
Yes, you were too harsh.
