You can but they won't grow.

Rubber trees are easy to propogate using a cutting from the original plant. Try air-layering to grow new roots, this is the easiest. Wound the plant and wrap peat moss around it then wrap saran wrap around that and secure with rubberbands. However leave enough of a little gap to insert water to stimulate root growth. Make sure the newly forming roots get plenty of water as desication is the reason for most failures.

When new roots start to appear, cut off the saran wrap and cut the portion with roots from the original and plant new rubber tree plant in sterile potting soil with amendments.

This question amazes me. You can never plant rubber of course!!! If you do it will not grow anything. That is very obvious.
