No, you are just the recepient of a gift. Too bad your daughter is a snob. Why not make use of it?
I have found a number of quality items just waiting to be taken home. (I generally check with the house occupants 1st) I got a pool tableDumpster diving is a great source of treasures. If you decide you don't need it- donate it.
Be blessed, love you.

Not a chance! Some of my best stuff has come from the street; a beautiful (once refinished) mahogany sleigh bed, a 1902 5-string banjo, dresser (again refinished) for my youngest daughter, drapes, and more.
It's fair game! Help yourself.

lol, no. we're living in a sickeningly disposable society.
we spend the majority of our lives at jobs we hate to have enough money to satisfy ppl with these kinds of snobby opinions...
Sorry, I know it's your daughter, but teach her differently, if she's not that old yet.
If you're ALWAYS picking up trash, you MAY have OCD Hoarding. Look that up, and see. But if this is a rare occaision, that's a different story.
My parents hoard and it's a very serious problem. but just the same, the occaisional pick-up from the curbside doesn't seem that bad to me.

No. Not if you clean the fabric thoroughly. Try a solution that is used to clean pet stains from carpets. I cant remember the name but it comes in a white trigger bottle with purple letters.

ha ha, no your not, my daughter had a phobia about second hand shops. if i stooped to look in one she would say , MUM YOUR MAKING A SHOW OF ME,, I FEEL ASHAMED, i remember taking my 12 year old in a second hand shop. for the first couple of minutes she had no idea, all the clothes were well presented, just like an ordinary fashion shop.. then i saw her nose twitching, sniffing away, you know the smell. suddenly, she realised where she was,, oh my god, peer pressure,, if one of my mates should see me know.. she bolted out of the shop, never saw her for dust. took a week for her to forgive me,, if she has

Give it a bloody good clean before you sit on it! It could have been anywhere or used for anything. There's nothing wrong with recycling though and it's better than putting it on a tip.

I often put things out by the curb that are still good and usefull with a sign free on them because I don't like to have yard sales. You did the right thing.
