Will the IQ increase as the child gets older? What does it mean for the the child's professional future?

IT means the child is performing at the same level mentally as an average 6.3 year old.

However, IQ tests taken before the age of 8 are not reliable measures of intelligence. IQ tests should not be taken as absolute, reliable pieces of information until the individual is at least 10-12.

Therefore, the childs IQ could change as he/she gets older. This is because he/she is too young right now to test reliably.

It does however, mean that right now this is a very bright child. That score is higher than about 94% of the population.

Theoretically, IQ stays constant with age. 125 would be in the above average range. However, most tests are not truly reliable when a child is 5. Children are still developing at very different paces at this age. Don't rush to make any kind of judgement at this age because there are so many other things that will affect this child's future. This link will give you more information about the difficulties of testing young children.

It means the child is above average now--bright, but not a genius. What the child learns and how it develops are more important than its base IQ--it's a bit early to guarantee a future, professionally or otherwise.

His IQ at the moment is very good for someone his age. It's a matter of nature versus nurture that may influence what his/her IQ will be. The questions the child was asked is what he/she knows now at the moment of development. The future test will be proportional to development, but that does not mean he will know it, or understand.

If his IQ remains at this level. He will be successful. He will be more likely to go to college, good grades, better physical fitness (I couldn't believe that, but it's in the text) and will be successful in his career.

An IQ score of a hundred twenty five is remarkable. universal IQ rankings selection from ninety-109. i'm hoping that the IQ attempt became into not taken on line on condition that those tests are valueless. Your little sister can do little to boost her IQ rankings on condition that a minimum of in theory it particularly is her IQ and could not replace./

IQ is not the same thing as knowelege. knowelege increases as we learn, but IQ shows the capacity for knowelege retention and processing.

IQ does NOT increase. if your child has an IQ of 125 that means he/she is above what is normal (100) in intelligence. i think that's in the 90th percentile.

what does that mean for your child's future? well nothing really. ok, it DOES affect how they will need to be taught in school (if your child is very smart, but has failing grades, it's likely b/c they are not being challenged enough and may need to move up in grade level)
but as far as job futures, well, employers do not ask IQ. and IQ doesnt always mean success, b/c one may have a VERY high IQ but still have terrible people skills. or terrible "street smarts".
someone with a low IQ and great people skills is likely to do better than someone with a high IQ alone.

if your child is obviously gifted in intellect, work with them on that, but do NOT neglect their social skills!

IQ stays relatively the same throughout a person's lifetime, so dont expect it to increase more than 5 points. I think 125 is in the Doctor/Business Executive range.

It'll likely increase. And it means nothing at all to this child's professional career. Btw, 100 is average for adults, 70 and below is retarded.
