Ok me and my boyfreiend live together but he pays me child support i know it is dumb but the state makes him do it. Well he was behind 1028.00 and so they took his tax return. they gave him the balance but i have not recived the 1028.00 does anybody know how long it takes for me to get that? It has already been 4 weeks. since we got a letter stating how much they took out and were it was all supposed to go. Can some one please help me out thanks

in Michigan it takes 4 to 6 weeks. but like the others have said if you were getting any assistance, the state will take the money first and then give you any of whats left.

If you are receiving assistance, then you will not see that money, as the state already pays you support that he is supposed to pay them, so the state will get it, and keep it....not you I.E. They payed you even when he was "behind", right? So in reality, he owes that to the state, not you.

BTW....If he was smart, he would go down there, prove he lives there, and get that order revoked. If you co-habitate, you're already married...and married couples DO NOT pay each other child support!!!

The Attorney General does not move fast kinda like the government lol....u will get it whenever the decide to mail it to u...in the meantime just ask as if it doesn't exist and don't go spending what u don't have

Contact your local Department of Social Services. The your check should have arrived by now. They should be able to assist you with the matter.

Where was the child support check supposed to go? If you had to get welfare while he wasn't supporting his child the state will get paid first what is owed to them....

call the IRS at 1-800-irs-1040 ask them

it takes 2-3 months... from when they intercepted it.

He should call the FOC and ask why you havent received it .
