My dog passed away two years ago. Now my two new pets stare at his urn for hours. They bark, growl and hiss. Not to mention I still swear I hear him bark sometimes and even catch glimpses of him in the house. Am I nuts or do I just really miss him?

It is totally possible for a past pet to stay with you. My dog passed 7 years ago, and she's still around. I see her, hear her, and so does the dog I have now. My bf dog just passed in october and he's around now, too. You're not nuts.

Haunt? No. Visit? Yes.
Anything that is attached to our heart remains attached regardless of the dimension.
I have pets from long ago that still comfort me- and I have plenty living. I have a cat (crossed over) that I still feel jump up on the bed and a dog- the best dog ever, that bumps me in the back of my leg when I'm out walking, hiking, fishing... anywhere we used to go...
Your other pets being uncomfortable is because they are ultra-sensitive. Take down the urn where they can see it- hold it and introduce them. To them, there is an intruder in the house and they are warning you. If they know, you know- they should relax.
It's not crazy. Don't put limits on God because you don't understand it. Just embrace the moment.
Be blessed. Love you.

a haunting is usually caused by a spirit, which is the fabric that connects the body to life. A spirit is life-everything that is "alive" about what would otherwise just be a mass of hair, flesh and bones. All animals have spirit. Your pet is no exception. I have walked in the orange groves in between the eucalyptus trees where my cat is buried, and have seen him staring at me from a lower branch.

You are not nuts! And your pet isn't haunting you, his spirit is coming to visit you. If he loved you while living, then that love has transferred over to his new life. I've felt my cat walking on my bed, and last night, for the first time, I heard him purring right into my ear!!!!! You have no idea how comforting that was to me! They say animals can see things that we can't, that's probably why your other animals are getting freaked out. Maybe they're afraid of your old cat. I think God has given you a special gift to receive this animal. Congratulations!

Anything's possible . Who else sees or hears your dead dog ? You obviously miss him . I wouldn't call it "haunted" . Dogs sense things adults can't ; and they are probably confused by the urn . Try moving the urn out of your pet's range . It may avoid further uncomfortable reactions . I imagine they miss him , too .

I have a friend who is visited by the ghost of her cat. Several people, even those who didn't know about the cat and don't usually experience spiritual phenomenon, have reported feeling a cat brushing up against their leg in her apartment. I don't think the cat ever even lived in that apartment. So, my vote is for yeah why not.

You're not crazy and you probably still do miss him. I too still hear the clinking of my past dog's tags and I even saw him once or twice after he past away. I don't like to think of it as necessarily haunting you because that mankes it sound bad in a way. I think of it that he's still there protecting me.

In a previous life when I was told dog was no longer on the menu people like myself grumbled that nothing good would come of this.

No, yet i don't even wanna think of roughly ever dropping the existence of my animal. My heart is going out to you, in case you enjoyed your cat as much as i admire my canines, than i'm so sorry on your loss and that i won't be able to think of what it is going to likely be like. Pray to God to help the soul of your cat, pray that he will settle for Jessie into his kingdom. i'm sorry on your loss.

I stumbled on this because I had the same question. My cat passed away last year and the night she died, I heard her meowing and I felt her snuggling up to me. My wife heard the meowing, too. She had a very distinctive meow, so I seriously doubt that what we heard was a stray.
