hi...i ordered something from online but i accidentaly put in my zip code but the numbers were not in order....but it still has my name..street adress and state.....so i was wondering if my package will still come to my house...and also..i told the seller about this...and they couldn not do anything because the package was already sent out....she gave me the tracking number and when i checked online it said my package was recieved in ft.lauderdale florida....i was jus wondering if maybe it was accepted by the post office in ft.lauderdale florida to be sent out to me..or if it was accepted by someone living there in florida....i live in new york..and the package was coming somewhere from florida..so maybe it was brought to the post office in ft.lauderdale to be shipped out to me...is that why the tracking thing says it was accepted in florida?.....if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it..thankss

You pretty much answered your own question. On the online tracking where it said your package was recieved in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, that just means that the post office accepted your package there for shipping. Check again tomorrow and make sure it's on the way to you. The post office always makes sure the zip code matches the city, so they will make sure it goes to the correct city. Good luck!

The post office is usually pretty specific when it comes to tracking packages. Received could mean that the package was received by the post office and input for processing. If the package was DELIVERED then it would use the term Delivered and give the date and time of delivery along with the city it was delivered to. There is a form you can fill out to stop a package from being delivered once it hits the post office and give an alternate address.

But I think youre safe either way. I say the best way to figure it out is take the zip code youre erroneously placed in and find out what city and state it is. If Im correct Fl zip codes start with 3, New York zip codes start with 1.

Call the post office either way... 800-ask-usps. They're usually very informative and there istn usually a long wait time.

Contact the post office ASAP. If it was delivered by a courier service then contact them. Call back the company you purchased from and see if they could do something about it like a recall.
