Ultra sound done 1 1/2 months ago also agrees with my Dr. I am measuring 2 to 3 weeks further. Which is 40 to 41 weeks today.

I don't think there is any reason to induce. Sometimes those things are wrong. But if they are right you should be due any minute. Congrats. I had mine at 40 weeks and 5 days. You should be lucky though, you're doctor seems reasonable most doctors would be passing out pitocin or scheduling c-section rates or something. I would trust the doctor. Might be a big baby though.

My friend they estimated her over what she was because her baby was big and she was measuring big so they scheduled her for c-section and baby was born premature with lung problems. Trust me you don't want that to happen. Baby will come out when it's ready. :)

Usually once you hit 42 weeks that's when the Dr. will bring up inducing since techinically at 42 weeks the fetus age would be 40 weeks.

Try walking to aid in going into labor or talk with Dr. a little more and inform her of your concerns regarding being induced.

Good Luck

I measured a week behind and ended up delivering 4 days after my due date. You might just have a big baby. You never know for sure until baby is out! Do alot of walking and the baby will come naturally. Atleast that's what I did and barely had time to get the epidural. I went to the hospital at 3cm dialated and 2 hours later I was at a 6 and it sped up quick after that!!! Good luck!

It is not how big you are measuring that matters, it is the age of the baby, the lungs do not fully develop unitl the last couple weeks. So even if the baby is just a big baby, developmentally he/she is still only 38 weeks. Both my second and third measured more weeks than what I was and they were both 9 lb babies. I would say listen to your doctor, every day inside the womb is better for the baby. Good luck.

Ultrasound's are not as accurate past the halfway mark of your pregnancy. Usually the first 18-22 week ultrasound is right on. I had an ultrasound done at 21 weeks and my due date from the ultrasound was June 19 and my daughter was born June 17. After 25-26 weeks do not go by the ultrasound. Babies grow at different rates past the halfway point.

My cousin just went thru that! She was 40 weeks and measured 41-42. Her baby weighed 10.5 lbs 22 inches! The Dr was surprised at the babies size. I think it was stupid that he got surprised. She did have to get induced, don't worry if you do. Maybe you should tell him to induce you or you can just wait till the baby comes on his/her own. Good luck!

I would not be induced unless it was medically necessary and that there was a medical SPECIFIC medical reason as to why. So many doctors are ready to induce because of timing unrelated to any real maternal or fetal issues. This can cause a higher risk of c-section births which are at times medically unecessary. You should discuss this with your doctor and get a second opinion.

at first it particularly is an Estimation Date. 2nd of all, your ultrasound tech will inform you that when the infant is 7 lbs it particularly is extremely puzzling for them to correctly verify how great your infant particularly is. They base the date off the 1st day of your final era. Assuming you even remembered the date they assume you have been ovulating and have been given pregnant 2 weeks after that factor. All female are diverse nevertheless and that 14 days is an time-honored. you have gotten gotten pregnant a littl ebefore or after that date. as long as you're wholesome your dr shouldn't grant you a c-sect without sturdy scientific reason (great infant isn't sturdy scientific reason). till your infant is in fetal misery, you may no longer get a c-sect. length better than dates means that your infant seems to be better than time-honored on your estimated transport day. That time-honored consists of human beings of Asian descent (commonly have smaller toddlers). do no longer difficulty approximately it. Your infant's estimated length at your ultrasound won't and should no longer be a element in determining whether or no longer you would be precipitated. labor will start up while it starts off by technique of itself. sturdy success! talk on your dr approximately your concerns, and permit him/her understand you do no longer decide to be precipitated or c-sect b/s an ultrasound exhibits infant better in length. Your dr will in all probability snicker and inform you to no longer difficulty that is in basic terms the thank you to objective and degree progression. If something you may sense happy. Your infant feels like he/she is coming up on time table. by technique of now nevertheless, any time you go into labor, your infant could be lots wholesome, yet permit nature take its direction. sturdy success!!! do no longer difficulty! playstation a 10 lb infant feels an analogous popping out as 7 lb infant
