Hi, my parents are South Americans, so i'm latino/hispanic, but was born and raised in England... My hair is naturally dark brown/black, I have dark brown eyes and tanned coloured skin...I was wondering if someone could tell me by judging on my colouring and the country i was brought up in, if I will burn by using tanning oil with a low spf, when i go away on holiday in the summer... I have never used oil before, always spf 15 lotion. I've never been sun burnt yet, but do you think there's a chance I could this summer?

It depends on how much time you spend in the sun.
The trick to tanning oil is to develop a good base first. Either go to a tanning booth before your trip or once you get there only do a little sun a a time. But once you get that base you can receive the most beautiful tan using tanning oils . Plus just a hint that I found out. As your tanning, give yourself a break in the shade periodically, so your skin can catch it's breath so to speak. Also after a day in the sun, do not go home and take a shower using soap. Rinse off well. preferably in cool water. This gives your skin a chance to re-coop a bit. happy tanning,

Since you are naturally "olive" in skin tone, you shouldn't have a fear of burning. What I find easiest to do, is to go sunning for brief periods at a time. Say half hour in the sun, half hour out. This gradually builds your tan to a dark glow. That in itself would prevent a nasty "burn" if you're just starting out. Of course, I live in Florida so I'm tan most of the year. But when I lived up north, this was the preferred method to avoid serious burning. Hope that helps.

It has nothing to do with the country that you were brought up in. It just depends on your skin. If you burn easy without sunblock, than yes it will burn you. It burns me regardless of the SPF, but I'm also fair skin so it won't be as bad for you.

not likely. You wont burn. I am indian/hispanic and I dont use anything at all and I have never burned. I get a little red tint at first but its gone within hours of tanning
