I want the lowest price on everything . Why pay more?

Minimum wage hikes are the biggest fraud handed to Americans to get their votes. The theory behind the minimum wage hike is that it will force the companies to take a cut out of profits by increasing employee wages. People then feel they will have more money.

THIS IS FALSE

What company do you know of will take a cut in profit??? What they do is raise the price of goods to re-adjust the profit margin, thus forcing you to pay your own salary increase. Not only that but it further damages the economy with inflation making your dollar all the more less in value. You also in turn pay more out in taxes thus leaving you with LESS money than before. Worst of all it does nothing for those making above minimum wage to offset the inflation costs.

My grandpa likes to tell me about when he could take my grandma to dinner, movies, and fill up the gas tank for the evening all for $2.50. What's it now, like $100 for a cheap date?

All of us pay more for a product/labor/service than what it is worth. We don't like to think we do, but, we do. Just look at items like car insurance, health insurance, going to the movies. Why do women pay $10 or more for a pair of underwear? Is it really worth that much? The list goes on and on.

Minimum wage could be maximum wage if, upon hiring, your boss told you he paid minimum wage and there would be no raises. If you meant that all you could get paid was minimum wage at the start of a new job, then no. An employer could start you out higher than the minimum wage. Hope that helps.

Yes, if the low-priced product was stolen or less convenient to buy.

No, minimum wage is only a maximum in jobs you shouldn't hang onto for very long. It is a way to make sure that people get an honest day's pay for a day's work. More money in consumer's products makes for a better economy. Don't let anyone fool you that it is anything else.

Nationalist--did your grandpa make four digits back then--I doubt he made $5 a day. Listen to the rest of his stories before you ask for the 'good ol days' back.

The minimum wage just shows how ignorant people are.

Is it the people or the politicians.
