is smoking such a huge, huge public risk we must use govt funds to make sure citizens dont smoke? or, is all the anti-tobacco a way for bored, spoiled college students and their liberal parents to exert their opinion on the populace? are govt officials covering their own indiscretions with tobacco crusades, or is it a real threat that we need to eliminate.....like yellow fever?

Hypothetically speaking yes, I think it should because I think the gvt should put it's money where it's mouth is.

I live in Canada and the goverment puts all these graphic pictures & warnings all over cigarette packs. There are ads everywhere warning about the dangers of it and you can't smoke anywhere indoors because it's banned everywhere. Yet cigarettes are available everywhere. Why? Because the gvt collects BIG tax money off of them. Not to mention that when you have a huge percentage of the population dying of cancer, you get extra money because of the pensions you don't have to pay out. So yeah I think if they were as concerned about the public as they would like us to think they are, they would ban it. But that will never happen..I hate the government! But its ok coz i smoke.

I'd like to see smoking banned. But the tobacco companies should be responsible for all the smokers hooked on the nicotine by providing free "Smoking Cessation" packets and following through with these people till all have no cravings.

Smokers are the ones that's considered spoiled.
Not the ones that are trying to prevent people from having cancer and have their vocals removed and getting it replaced with a steel pipe.
There's no reasons to smoke except to occupy yourself to help destroy brain cells. A lot of people has died in their 30s or 40s because of smoking. Most people are doing it for their friends and family so they wouldn't die young. Not for you.

Smoking is gross and it stinks but if they didnt want people smoking they wouldnt have made cigarettes! Im sure the government is getting their money out of the tobacco dollars anyhow.

if smoking were banned I'd become a bootlegger and get rich. I think all the people who don't smoke should have to stand outside on their breaks.
