For my husband.....he NEVER misses work. He once worked for a company for 21 years and he NEVER took a sick day! Me....if my body aches or I have diarrea then I have to stay in cause I can't concentrate. If I wake up with a headache, cold, cough, sore throat or anything else then I take medicine and head to work. I take the medicine with me to work of course! I've gone sick to work many times. For most is the lack of will power, unless they have an unusually low intolerance of pain. I just say "I took the medicine, it's gonna work so I'm off to work!"

Being too tired to wake up in the morning. Then I just fake sick, call off work, and enjoy my day off. Then, when I'm really sick, I go to work and infect everyone else. Shh. Don't tell my employer.

Well, usually it's if you're contagious. Fever, diarrhea, vomiting, rash, etc. you know the contagious stuff. But I call in if I'm just "sick of work"!!! Hey, I'm sick! Sick of work! It's up to you! There's lots of different kinds of "sicknesses"!!

Fever above 101 degrees. Things spewing or leaking from body orifices. This includes poopie, barf and snot. Dizziness is a good one. Falling over at work can't be a good thing. Mostly it's the spewing or leaking, though. Yup. And coughing till you pass out. Once again the falling over thigs comes into play. THING! that is supposed to say thing.

Any time you have something contagious you can give your coworkers you should stay home out of respect for them. Also, if you honestly feel that you can't perform your job at even the basic standards, it's best for everyone if you keep your sick self in bed.

If you have a migraine, the flu, have a fever, throwing up, upset stomach, anything else contagious then you are too sick to go to work

when you are contagious, or too sick to be of any use--you cannot perform your job duties. Now on the other side: any excuse that you believe will work to get out of work.. good luck.

If I can't get out of bed - or - if I'd be constantly taken away from my desk due to my illness - or - if I have a fever and am therefore contagious.
