If my landlord just told me that he wants me out by the end of the month for whatever reasons, and we have no written contract, can I just stay anyway? Can I have them at least pay the moving expense?

In most states in the US, without a contract you are considered month-to-month and the landlord can end your tenancy with 30 day notice. I assume it would be much the same in canada. I wouldn't get your hopes up about the landlord paying for you to move. Next time, sign a lease and it can't happen this way.

I would assume it depends on what province and/or territory you live in, since in the U.S., I believe it's a state-by-state law. I'm including a link that might help.
