Name two substances which you would reasonably expect to be at lower concentration in the plasma at the venous end of a capillary compared to the arterial end?

Bit stuck...can anyone help please?

To explain this you have to look at the function of the blood and it's vessels! The circulatory system is design (among other things) to supply the boddy with nutrients and help with the disposal of toxins. Arteries do the supplying and veins do the removing. So, any substance which is needed by the body tissues which is transported via the blood will be in a higher concentration at the arterial end of the capillary and lower at the venous end, whereas for waste materials it is reversed. Therefore, substances such as oxygen and glucose would be found at lower concentrations at the venous end whereas carbon dioxide would be in a higher concentration!

You would expect concentrations of oxygen and glucose to be less at the venous end as oxygen would be diifused in the capillaries as would glucose to be used for energy.
Hence why venous blood is called 'deoxygenated' because it has no, or less, oxygen in it.
Hope this helps, and sorry of it wasn't what you were lokking for
