Yeah, was told that same line 2 wks. ago. It was a nice way to say ... you just lost another14 yrs of your life on a man. This must be the new catch phrase of ' 07. I been reading the same question for weeks. Marie

The question you need to ask is WHO are they in love with. Typically this is said by someone in an affair. I'd say 9 out of 10 times I hear this, if not more, the person who tells me their husband or wife said this finds out their spouse was cheating.

I used to think it was a bullshit line too--until I started feeling that way myself.

It could mean:

The lustful, infatuation phase is over...the euphoria has worn off, we really don't have the makings of a "real" relationship.

I really don't like (abhor) what you have become and I want out.

I truly love you, but I just don't find you attractive anymore (you've become too disrespectful; fat; lazy; "comfortable"; your annoying habits just aren't cute anymore...), and I really can't stand to be around you.

I'm really tired of trying and think it's useless to continue.

I'm having an affair and have found someone else I'd rather be with.

Generally, it's someone you care about enough to try to spare his/her feelings. Not that it does, but that's the idea.

its a bullshit line. usually cheaters use it. thats from hearing it myself, when i knew i was being cheated on. sometimes it means we got caught up in the infatuation stage and moved too fast and now i realize i dont really love you the way i thought i did. technically it means i love you as a friend but i dont love you like that anymore, dont want to have sex or live with you. Its not you its me can be either sincere or insincere, it depends on the situation. sometimes people really do come to a point in their lives when they realize...hey i just cant do this right now...for whatever reason, work, maturity, time, etc. and as with the i love you.... sometimes its just bullsh*t

Complete crap. The first feelings of love/lust that we call being in love eventually go away. That is why it is easy for people to walk away from one another. I think that they are being selfish and don't want to put in the work that needs to be done to have a good relationship.

It means they still care deeply about you and your welfare, but don't love you like they did when you first were together. Like how you love a family member but your not in love with a family member. If that makes sense. Life can be so confusing. Exspecially when it comes to relationships and love.

It means they are not getting the tingly little feelings that you get with a new exciting lover, like the one they are currently doing....

I have NEVER heard this line being used by someone who isn't cheating. It's usually women who use this one, but not always.

This is what my ex-wife told me before moving out of our house and divorcing me. She was depressed and couldn't see how I could still love her because she no longer loved herself or even liked herself. And also fell out of love with me is what she said. Good Luck.
