The only problem with taking pregnancy tests early is that you have to pay for each test. Buy them at the $1 Store, and you can take as many as your anxious mind desires.

You will not be able to get an accurate positive reading on a pregnancy test until your body produces a certain amount of pregnancy hormone. Your pregnancy test kit will tell you that SOME women can get a positive reading as early as four days before a missed period (which is about 10 days after ovulation for the "average" woman upon whose 28-day cycle this statement is based.)

If you had sex two months ago, and you are pregnant, you should get an accurate test result now, because you would've needed to ovulate within a few days of that sex act in order to get pregnant, making you 7 weeks past ovulation (or "9 weeks pregnant" by the standard method of counting gestation.)

I hope you are under a doctor's care if your cycle is 2 months plus three weeks long!

There is a reason the HPT say at least 4 days before a missed period.
HPT test pick up on HCG a hormone in a woman's urine created when she's pregnant if you take a test too early you may get a negative test result b/c this hormone was too low to detect. Plus conception/implantation doesn't take place till 2 weeks after your last period. So be patient and wait it out another 2.5 weeks before you take a test. That way you get more accurate results. And if at the 2.5 weeks testing your still not satisfied with results call and set up an appointment with your dr.

Good Luck

What it means is 4 days before the next period after you had sex. If it has been two months, yes you can take it now. I assume you missed your last period, and that is why you are taking it.

If it has been ten days since you thought you got pregnant you can take it but if it has been two months already, you really should just go to the doctor.
