I'm in America, I have a PS3, and the best connector next to HDMI is the component cables it comes with

Best way is to buy a proper adaptor cable and use the S-Video or Scart. I don't know if there is a scart cable available but Amazon sell this nifty cable.

I haven't tried it myself, still waiting for my PS3 to arrive, but it looks promising
