Change in velocity is acceleration a
a= Force/mass (remember F=ma)
so
a=54/9=6m/s^2

The change in velocity is equal to acceleration (acceleration = Change velocity/ change in time). Therefore:
F = ma
a = F/m
a = (54N)/(9000g) = 6e-3 [m/s ^2] = .006

*double check the units are all compatiable between meters, grams, and Newtons.
