No, it's not the persons fault. Although there could be some cause for it like some hidden trauma that they are not telling anyone. Maybe they are just shy. Talk to the person and find out.

It depends on the person...it could simply be that the person is a loner and doesn't have the need for a bunch of people around them.

i think that people go by the way you carry yourself; if you lack confidence, or if you don't have an outgoing personality. sometimes if you're the opposite, obnoxious that might be a setback. also, people go by the way you look. It's unfortunate, but most people do.

maybe that person is a loner , has social anxiety or just doesnt want friends. But on the flip side , maybe this person doesnt have friends because he/she cannot be trusted , who knows ...

in a way it is bad but in a way it is good i think that not haveing friends bad because you will be lonely the good is you will be able to be free.
