I dont think the floater ball will work in the NFL we have seen it time and time again, a college QB comes in hyped up but only has the deep, open ball nothing more.

He will need some polishing, but I think he has all the tools. If you are saying he doesn't have a strong arm you should check your sources again.

No one knows at this stage of his career, but I will say No! He will be an average QB.

He played in a college system that utilized only his athletic ability along with an exceptional supporting staff. They still lost 2 games last year. Can anybody name an NFL QB who has been successful with only athletic ability? Not Vick or Culpepper, they are already career losers in big games. McNabb or Young, not really. All of the QBs who rely on athletic ability have a few things in common, they do not handle pressure and they are not able to make quick decisions. Winning QBs are the guys who stand up to pressure and process information quickly. The athletic QBs do not learn that part of the game when they are young. In the NFL, every player is bigger, faster and stronger, they can't just outrun the other team.

Remember the Saints/Falcons game where Drew Brees threw a miracle at the end of the half for a touchdown. And if he is accurate deep he is definitely accurate short, not to mention can throw 50-60 yards on the freakin' run. If he isn't a first pick, he is definitely a top 5.

I definitely believe that Brady Quinn will be a better NFL QB. He's got more all around talent and can make every pass imaginable. His numbers were far better than Russell's. I think the best player in the draft is Calvin Johnson. I mean c'mon, there's no other WR in the NFL that is 6'5", 230 lbs and can run the 40 in 4.35. That's gonna be a mismatch for all CBs in the league. The guy is an amazing athlete. How could you not pick him as #1?

He can throw the deep ball, but can he throw the 5 yard out?

He's 2 out of shape to be a QB. 2 slow, 2 fat.

A 75 yard floater ball? This kid has a rocket arm and the majority of his passes at LSU were 10 yards or less. It is quite obvious that you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. And to the dude that said where did Russell just pop up from, I assume that you don't watch much SEC football or you would have seen him kicking azz for the past three years.

Yes, the Raiders should pick him up because this kid is a stud. He is a nice big Q that is fast on his feet and is not afraid to run. I haven't even mentioned his arm, the guy can throw 55 yards... sitting down!!! If Moss stays then he can have some body to throw to him that devastating deep ball for a TD.

I don't think the #1 draft pick will be a QB this year. Russell or Smith.

Personally, I would take Brady Quinn over JaMarcus Russell in the NFL...

Well I think he is the #1 QB, but just not seeing the Raiders taking him.
