Hello all. I'll be moving to Mississippi in December or January and will need to get things ready remotly from my current home in Colorado. Does anyone know of some decent sites I can visit to find out about the Jackson area, as well as some boards to chat on to start to get to know some folk in the area before I go.

I agree with David L. Jackson has a high crime rate. The most newly developed area is the Flowood/ Brandon area. Also Madison is newly developed, but a little more pricey. The reservoir area is pretty nice, and lots of places to eat. I just moved out of that area, my fiance' was robbed and shot, his friend was killed. I am not trying to scare you though, sorry if I have.

if you have a myspace account, try that. It should help to find a Mississippi group or Jackson, MS group. Good luck.

Welcome to Mississippi. I'd suggest looking at Madison, Ridgeland, Clinton or Flowood before Jackson. Lots of crime there.
