First check the battery.

Manually turn the system on- then (Or plug and replug in.)

On the inside of the controller their is a red button (remove battery cover to find)

Press it after pressing the red button under the front cover plate on the Wii unit itself. This should sync the remote to the Wii. Press button on one remote at a time.

Is the recieving bar for the remotes blocked, disconnected or turned the wrong way. (the thin bar that goes on the tv. If it is that'll cause issues. If that doesn't work disconnect the power source to the Wii and reconnect then turn it on and see if that fixes it.

If you try and turn the system on with your wiimote and the four lights on the bottom (the ones that tell you which player controller it is) blink then you still have battery life and that's a good sign.

Take the batteries out of all your wiimotes.
Turn off the wii and unplug it for 30 seconds.
Plug it back it and turn it back on after the 30 seconds.
When the "health and safety" screen appears DON'T press A.
Put the batteries back into the wiimote.
Press the sync button on the console.
Press the sync button on one of the wiimotes. ~Repeat last 2 steps for each wiimote~
The light should now indicate which wii mote is which and should work now.

I had to go through this yesterday and called tech, that's what they told me to do. They said that it could be interference from a cell phone, microwave, camera, etc... So try to not keep those things near by. Hope this helped and good luck!
