I've seen Tool, Slayer, The Deftones, Metallica, The Who, Springsteen, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Phish (dozens of times), The Chili Peppers, Dylan, Alison Krauss and Union Station, and hundreds of others. The best live show I've seen is a tie between Umphrey's McGee and Yonder Mountain String Band. Why? Partially BECAUSE they don't rely on gimicks like laser lights and pyrotechnics; they let the music be the show, and partially because they don't follow some pre-determined set list.

The Best Band that I saw live and did enjoy the most was Bad Company!!
They did come on, Play for almost 3 hours and all during that show, they only had one bright light on!!! They did not need no big light show to make the music Rock You.
After playing for almost 3 hours, they did come back on and play 7 more songs!!!
Now this was not the Best Band I ever saw but the way they did put the show on is what got to me and I would like to see them again!!!

The top shows I've been too.
1. The Dempseys...they are mostly unknown Memphis band...although they did play Elvis's band in the Johnny Cash movie....this is one of those show everyone MUST see. I don't care what your type of music is...you'll love it. I have never seen anybody as talented as them. These guys are a simple three piece rockabilly band. But they play sooooo fast. You can hardly see their hands moving. They almost want to make you puke...no one should be that talented!
2. David Bowie.....no explanation needed.
3. Pat Benetar and Joan Jett together...those women could sing in the dark and be just as awesome. (and it was funny looking at the rows and rows of lesbians...the gross ones!)
4. Billy Idol....he molested a willing girl on stage! It was crazy. That guy has charisma...I just couldn't take my eyes off him.
5. Bob Dylan...it was great that all his songs, he morphed them into blues and jazz sounds. I now know why they call him a god. It was really cool.

Phish, because they never play the same show twice. Like other bands they play a city and then the next night it's the same songs, maybe with two of them out of order. By the end of the tour there is no more emotion left.
But anyway, that is either here nor there. Today's music sucks.

I have seen a great deal of live concerts, so that is difficult to say, just one. I don't own any John Myer c.d.'s but, I saw him live last month, and he is absolutely incredible on the guitar, I have never experienced such an feel of aught over a live act before, his solo's are incredible! As a band though, I would have to say the Red Hot Chilly Pepper's live, Flea rocks!!!!

Morrissey, February 17, 2000 at the Avalon in Boston, MA. The show was $50 and well worth it. He performed for more than two hours, was congenial with fans and had a great sense of humor. He also through his shirts into the crowd at the women there. Great show.

My chemical romance
they are freakin awesome in concert. oh and they sound just as good Live as they do on the record. so you know they're the real thing. its like they are actually feeling the music when they sing and perform. i love the dance moves Gerard does. and the way Frank plays the guitar is insane(kudos) ray plays well too. bob with the drums very good. Mikey one of the best bass players. oh and they are so hot live too. they are just full of energy and really work up the audience in their performances. you can tell they are playing their heart outs. the band is just mind boggling.

For a sixty-four year old man, Paul McCartney does an amazing show- I saw him a couple years ago in Michigan. Plays for almost 3 hours, singing Beatles tunes, Wings tunes, AND new stuff.
Rock on, Paul

Its a toss up between Rollins Band and The Foo Fighters. I was surprised by the foo fighters I went to see the chili peppers (who sucked that night) but the Dave Grohl amazed me. And Rollins just kills live, but I was expecting that so like I said its a toss up

Yeah I've seen Tool, but I don't remember much about it(i was f-ed up) The one I remember was Marilyn Manson w/ L7 that was awesome. He is crazy, cutting himself w/ broken lightbulbs, and Antichrist Superstar was the tour(his second best album)
