The only thing you can do is wait for the divorce papers to be finalized. By law you're not legally married! Also try to explain this situation to the person who married you maybe they can stop your marriage certificate from being printed until the divorce is finalized! Or maybe they can get you another marriage license & sign it after they divorce is final. I wish you the best of luck! If they can do it this way he'll have the divorce decree to prove that he was divorced already!!
Good Luck!!!!

You are not married. You wait until the judge signs the papers and then you go to that judge and get married again. If you had a nice wedding you do this quietly and none of your family or friends will know that your husband was a bigamist for a short time. You might want to talk to a lawyer just to be sure you do the right thing.

Get the judge to sign the papers and then get remarried.
Check the law in the state where you marry, as there may be a certain waiting time after the divorce.

Well you're not legally married. You have no right to get married until he had the divorce papers in his hands, he was not divorced until they got into his hands. It's not accidental polygamy it's simply being married illegally and was obviosuly a choice.

So basically you LIED on your marriage license application.
You probaly stated that your bf was SINGLE instead of divorced, otherwise, the divorce documents needed to be presented as evidence,
So, you marriage is illegal since a marriage license was issue under false information, and therefore he is a bigamist.
Good luck

Was he married in the same state ? If yes then obviously his divorce is final . If it wasn't then it would have put a halt on you and him getting a marriage license.
Congrats on getting married and good luck !

Your marriage is void. So just wait for the divorce papers.

I have no idea how you got married in the first place. I'm a legal secretary...normally when you file for your marriage license, you MUST present proof of divorce (divorce decree) if you have been married. Your marriage may not be considered legally valid, or you are unintentionally concidered a bigamist. I would consult your lawyer ASAP.

I would like to know what county issued you a marriage license WITHOUT a copy of his divorce decree. Unless someone lied on the marriage application, this doesn't happen.
