Thought & experience, thought without the experiene to place it in perspective can leave you spinning your wheels

Mostly facts, reason and logic.

Health care: does it benefit society to have a lot of sick people who cannot work? How does that weigh against a reduction in doctor's salaries that will occur with a national health plan?

Global warming/climate change: it's a question for the scientists, and the vast majority of scientists say that based on studies conducted following the scientific method (observation - hypothesis - logical reasoning), there's climate change caused by human activity.

I post on some issues that I'm angry about, but those are often the ones I've often thought about too.

Health care - both. But I do *NOT* think the government needs to run our health care system. They screw up everything they touch. I can't even imagine what a mess our health care system would be if the gov't ran it. <>

Global Warming - I think that humans certainly have had an impact, but I don't think that we're the sole cause of the current climate change. I *feel* this issue has been way over politicized.

Posting - Depends on my mood. I usually think about my answers, just to avoid looking as stupid as a lot of the contributors on here do. But, on occasion, I am definitely moved by feelings and just rant.

Good question!

I am a democrat, but do not think nationalized health care is a good idea. The Medicare Part D program is going bankrupt, and it is only a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of nationalized health care. I could really give a crap about global warming. I base my political decisions on who I think has the best ideas to move our country forward, and so far, I have not heard anyone who compares to Obama.

Thanks for asking an intelligent question.

My positions are based on both critical thinking skills and experience I have developed in school, work and living. Most of them come from working for over 30 years in a job related
to highly charged local politics.

I want everyone to have equal access to health care, but experience tells me that "equal" means the lowest common denominator and, based on what has happened in Canada an in our own public school system, I don't want to pay more in taxes to have less care.

Humans cause global warming, based on the preponderance of evidence from scientists who understand far better than I do the role of carbon emissions in greenhouse gasses and the deforestation of large areas of natural filters.

I do not post if I don't know an answer, but sometimes enjoy a sharp retort to specious and unfounded questions shaped to express an opinion inflammatory to others.

When it comes to issues like the ones you've presented, I don't think it's always necessary to separate thought from feelings.

I think everyone should have healthcare because the cost of medical care in the world today is astronomical and many people die senselessly because they simply cannot afford to pay a doctor.

I don't think anyone thinks humans "cause" global warming. I think if you do some research, you'll find that people think humans "contribute to" global warming.

And I think about the things I post, which are often about the things I feel.

Your question is loaded, but not logically thought out.

I post the things I think. I feel the things I think, so it's the same, either way. BTW. the whole global warming hype is just that, hype. not supported by the evidence

Unfortunately, many people support policies because they feel "good". They don't think about anything else.

Steve C, I have been to Obama's website, and was shocked to discover how many things he believes need "more funding". Is more funding the answer to anything? I believe not.

I don't think.

The thoughts are I.

Do I order the thinking or does the thinking define I?

Feelings are instinct, useful when time is too short for thought.
