I dont know how to go about this. I am only 18 years old and i think im pregnant. I am taking the birth control pill and me and my bf dont use condoms. I was supposed to have my period on the 3rd of this month but it never came. It was three days late when it came yesturday morning, but the thing is it disappeared throughout the day. I no longer have my period. My friend says that i should wait 6 weeks before i should take a test. But i dont know if i should believe her and take a test or wait the 6 weeks. My periods have been regular since ive been on the pill and this is the first time that this has happened. I dont know what i should do. please someone help me.

You do not need to wait the 6 weeks your friend suggested. The best time to take a pregnancy test is the day of your missed period (or after). Since you sort of missed your period, go ahead and take it right now. It is best to do the test first thing in the morning because the pregnancy hormone is the most concentrated then. If you get a negative result, you may want to re-test in a week or so. If it is still negative, you could probably just chalk it up as an irregular period (which my doctor says happens to almost every woman 1-2 times a year). I hope you get the outcome you are looking for! Good luck!

that is correct you defnatel do not have to wait 6 weeks, however if you are pregnant the hormone detected might not be high enough to make a positive result, however you can buy a pack of First response (they are a very reliable brand) at wal-mart 3 strips for $15.00.. if you are that concerned buy a pack, take one in the morning (when your pee is most concentrated) if it comes out negitive and you still don't start your period wait another 3 days or so, and take the 2nd one out of the pack.

Just a side note though, if you are taking birth control accordingly, then you should not have anything to worry about, you might just be having a wacky period.

Take a test now. If it comes up negative, take another next week. They are not very expensive, and can really put your mind at ease. Tests can usually detect the preg hormone within a week of a missed period. Either way, let your ob/gyn know about it. Give the office a call and just talk to the nurse on the phone. They'll give you advice on what to do and whether or not you have to go to the office. Good luck!

Go ahead and take the test first thing tomorrow morning your levels are higher if you are pg...

Your body might just be acting weird and still adjusting to the pill etc.. Womens bodies are so weird like that..

Dont stress until you take the test and if its neg, then make a appt with the doc and he can give you a blood test and know for sure if your pg or what might be going on..

You can have spotting on the pill and if you miss doses, things can get a little screwy. Best thing would be take a pregnancy test. It won't hurt anything.
