Is this a good test for alcohol in urine?

No, it's too expensive, and there are cheap! tests that will tell you the same information!

Plus, you have to have a person who knows how the run and maintain the instrument; not just anyone off the street is going to be able to be able to interpret the results either!

It is the best method available, but it depends on waht the testing situation is.

If it is something that is going to court (DUI, autopsy, etc) it is the method you HAVE to do. It is unimpeachable as evidence in court.

If you are doing random screening, then the cheaper immunoassays are the way to go. Then you would use GCMS as the confirmatory method for any positive results.

It's the state-of-the-art testing method for finding drugs and/or alcohol in urine. You can find out the composition of just about any fluid with a GC/MS.
