Personally I have to say real life boys are the ulgiest in this world or the next. I prefer a man I can dream about. My pick is Miroku from Inuyasha. He is sooooooooooo cute.

Fictional/animated men are designed to be perfect and don't have the unpredictable emotions of real men, so it's only natural to fantasise about them. They're designed to be easy on the eyes as you're meant to watch them for 25mins at a time, and can have unrealistic but very appealing physiques. There's also the angle that "beautiful men" from fiction conform to the criteria that women actually want, whereas men try to look as they think women want them to...which is often wrong. Burly men with buzzcuts and huge, masculine jawlines do not appeal.
There are some real life men who put care into their looks too, and don't act in a way that turns us off. Finding these men can take a while though! Very few have the self confidence to blaze their own trails and not care what other guys think about them, whereas anime men are often self assured and independent.
In short, I think anime men are cuter on the whole because cuteness can be what they're designed for. But there are cute real men out there too, if you're lucky enough to stumble into them.
Though I prefer the manga Miroku ;)

I like anime guys, for example Inuyasha or Abel from Trinity Blood or even Vampire Hunter D. I have a boyfriend that I love and he understands. It's just fantasy, it's ok to think the imaginary guys are cute and sexy as long as you make sure you realize it's just fantasy not real.

You are so right! Animated boys are so much cuter. Cloud Strife and Vincent Valentine from final fantasy are also better looking than real boys!!

manga boys are cute. that's probably cause they have angelic faces (try to find a real guy with something like that). but the problem with those guys is that they're not real.
