Don McClean and title is American Pie and it isn't just about Buddy Holly-it is a whole history lesson of things that went on during the 60's etc... Drove my Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry pertains to the gas shortage in the early 70's, there are certain phrases that lean towards Kennedy being assasinated and Vietnam - it is one of the BEST "history" songs I heard! A history teacher in Mich. brought it to our attention in the 70's!
