I'm sorry I have to reply to Jonny's comment on Diddy......

That's a bunch of BullS**t! You need to learn your history youngsta!

Puffy, Diddy, whatever you wanna call him opened the doors for most of your list to do what they have done.

Diddy made it possible for a lot of the underground rap & hip hop to reach YOU in the mainstream (lol)

If you bothered to listen to his music you would understand what he is trying to do, that is reach a VARIETY of people and make music the way it used to be - to make people feel good.

Now back to the question that was asked:

Nas was doin the damn thing when Pac was w/ Digital Underground. His old skool s**t is CLASSIC!

Biggie had a lot to say and a lot of style right out of the gate!

Pac was in his element w/ gangsta rap but didn't have a lot of variety

Jay Z is cool, his OG stuff is the best and he has a lot to say if you really listen. And to be honest when you just feel like shakin ya ***, Jay Z hits the spot!

This is the order, anybody else who says differently is kidding themselves. I'll throw some other rappers in there to better suit my perspective.

Tupac - The epitamy of artistic rap.
Dr. Dre - The ultimate producer.
(Old School) Snoop Dogg - Greatness came with Dr. Dre's production.
Biggie - The epitamy of not needing a lot of talent to be great.
Bone Thugs N' Harmony - Great rapping and lyrics, similar to Tupac.
Nas - A decent rapper. Definitely not great, but good.
Jay-Z - A mediocre rapper. Kind of fake, more business than art.
P Diddy - The sorryest excuse for integrity and meaning.

I'll take Chuck D in his prime over all of them.

If I had to choose out of these four, it would be Biggie.
