I'm currently using the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Every time I open it up or try to open a new tab I get a message that says "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded". Once I click "OK", I'm fine and taken to the page or the new tab, but it's getting annoying. It pops up on every page when I try to navigate through Yahoo! mail, Hotmail and when I open new tabs.
I've tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it and still get the same message.
Any clues to why this is happening and more importantly, how can I fix it?

OK, so I kind of tried a few of all your answers so far... I uninstalled all of my themes *cries* and with the FF default, I don't get that message anymore. So looks like it was my themes doing it to me. Grrrr... I really liked the one I was using so hope that wasn't the one! heh.
Thanks all!! :o)

Hi there.
Interesting... Did you try changing or setting to another homepage in the options menu? Do you have the lolifox-theme? It is installed as an extension: Tools > Add-ons > Extensions.
From what I hear, that sometimes causes that error you're getting.
Hope this helps

Are you using a firewall? The firewall might be the cause of a page time-out. Another thing, are connected directly to the Internet or are you connecting through a proxy?
Go to Tools->Options->Advanced. Click on the Network Tab and then on Settings under the Connection heading. Select "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network" and click OK. Click OK again.
I'm taking a guess here so try it and see if it works.

Yes. I think you could get rid of it if you clear your cache (firefox). To do that, you go to TOOLS | OPTIONS | PRIVACY | PRIVATE DATA. Open the SETTINGS and select the cache and cookies (check them) and then click OK.
Finally, click the CLEAR NOW button.

It relies upon on the web page coding and its information liberation ideas. Your kept web page may no longer look same because the unique one. So both the failings could or may no longer be displayed same.

If you have IE check if this message appears there also.
Run an antivirus program.
Run ccleaner from www.filehippo..com. Check issues.
Run AWC2Personal from http://www.iobit.com
Even if your problem is not solved, these are useful programs.

it's nothing to do with mozzilla, or any other browser you use , opera ,and IE7 do the same thing ,it's yahoo, and hotmail , they both use the same servers , and the servers are having problems , but if you actually contact yahoo , they will blame it on your isp ,or your security , but I just talked to microsoft and they had me run test on my network , and said its not on my end , it's the dns server is having problems .its been doing these problems every since vista actually came out on the market ,
