can anyone help with this basic maths question, it was a long time ago since i learnt this?!!?

i got 63% in an exam and 58% in my coursework. The exam counts for 66% of the total mark and the coursework counts for 33% of my total mark. what is the formula for working out my total mark? thank you so much:)

63 x 0.66 + 58 x 0.33 = 61% (total mark)

Answering your question as it stands gives 60.72 % as people have given already. This does mean that you have an extra 1% to come from somewhere.

However, perhaps you meant two-thirds (66.6 recurring %) of the total mark comes from the exam and one-third (33.3 recurring %) from the coursework. This would account for the missing 1%. If this is the case:

(63 x 2) / 3 = 42
58 / 3 = 19 1/3

Adding the two together you get 61 1/3 % (61 and one third %)

Or 61.3 recurring %

Or 61.3 % (1d.p.)

33 divided by 100 then multiply by 58 = 19.14
Add the two together =60.72
Incidentally, you are missing 1%. OR
33 x 58% plus 66 x 63% =60.72

However, you say the exam counts for 66% and the coursework 33% which means you're missing 1% somewhere, so the formula above wouldnt actually be totally accurate.
