No, they are round because of the force of gravity acting on them as they form.
Nor are they perfectly round (although very close to it), because of the centripetal force acting as a result of the Earth's rotation around it's axis, the circumference around the equator is slightly larger than the circumference through the poles.

The shape of large masses like planets is a result of hydrostatic equilibrium. Rain drops are round too, and for similar but not identical reasons. Asteroids can be odd shapes, but big things get crushed by gravity into spheres as if they were made of water, because on the scale of a planet, rock is as weak as water. A 1,000 mile tall mountain would soon collapse in earthquakes and landslides until it was only a few miles high, just like the mountains we have now. And since the Earth is about 1,000 times bigger than those mountains, it seems perfectly round from a distance.

My answer is no. Beyond the major planets, the roundness of most objects in the universe is due to the fact that they are all spinning.
Spinning is a motion in nature that makes objects move around in circles. Any object rotating or spinning at high velocities, like stars and planets, are most likely to end up being round. This doesn't imply a cosmic intelligence to me at all.
Just like a vibration, rotation is an act in nature be it here on Earth or elsewhere in the universe.

The earth isn't genuinely around. because of the earths rotational axis there are genuinely 2 flatter spots on the superb suited and backside. rely attracts rely (all issues are interested in different issues however the stress is so tiny we can't see it) and so bits of airborne dirt and dust, asteroid, rock and so on are interested in one yet another in one great clump and we recognize this stress (helped by technique of the spinning of the earth) because of the fact the earths gravitational pull. each and every thing is attracted or pulled in the direction of the middle of the earth. If the earth have been cubed formed some factors (like the corners) may be better faraway from the middle. The organic pull is in the direction of the middle so the priority will unfolded (the corners will dissapear) to disguise the climate with the better pull and to that end be getting nearer to the middle factor .

it all has to do with gravity and the materials from which objects are made. in actuality the planets are not perfectly round, they tend to bulge near their equators. if the object is maliable (able to be shaped) gravity will make it into a sphere (ball) just like when astronaughts make water float around in the shuttle...it turns into a ball. asteroids dont have enough gravity to make the material get squeezed into a shepere!!!! hope this helps!!!!

Objects form round because of the gravity that acts on them when they form. It all has to do when objects get in a certain orbit around a star and the material comes together then gravity and rotation makes them round.

The actual shape of a planet is mandated by the structural strength of it's material and it's mass.
Gravity does the rest.

No, the reason planets and such are for the most part "round" is due to the effects of mass gathering together and increasing the gravitational pull towards the center of the object.

It is rugby ball shaped. It is flattened at the equator and is longer at the poles. The technical term is an oblate spheriod.
How this is indicative of any higher power escapes me, can you go into more detail?

No, its because they achived a sufficant size and mass for gravity to be the dominate force and pulls everything together to its core resulting in a round shape.
