You not cleaning your room.. or taking out the trash.. or little stuff? When things could be so much worse. I think sometimes they don't realize how good they have it sometimes because they could have those bad kids out there that blatantly disrespect them in front of their faces, call them names.. and do terrible things behind their backs.

I understand the whole clean house thing.. yeah we don't want a dirty house. But I was just trying to get at the fact that it could be a lot worse..

Think of it this way. One day they put a baby in your arms. Then you realize you only have 18 years to teach them everything they need to know to be healthy, safe, successful, independent and happy. Just because you are a good kid doesn't mean you can't try and improve yourself a little . Right? Congrats on being a good kid. Can you find a way to help the rents out around the house ( a little )?

As part of a household, you must contribute your fair share of the responsibility of keeping the place clean. Those little things teach responsibility and working together. I fuss over those things with my kids too. However, I also am quick to tell them how proud I am of them, that I trust them, and that they have made good life choices.

As you said things could be worse.They could be asking you to do things much worse and I'm not a genius or anything but I would think that they like to see their house clean[including your room] so they get mad because you don't want to do anything but watch TV and play video games.

They are trying to teach you skills so you wont grow up to be a slob.
There is a girl in class that no one will eat anything she brings from home because her house is a pig-pen.

Keeping a household running in good order is a team effort. Each member has to do their share.
Parents don't enjoy picking up after you.
