Hey, my friend here believes that Johnny Depp named the boy Jack because of the character in Pirates of the Caribbean, but I think that it is because of his interest in the story of Jack the Ripper. Who's right?

I read that a lot that Johnny named his children after the main characters of this story (Jack and Lily). I really can imagine that. The movie has also something to do with innocence and the complete evil. And we all know that Johnny is really is interested in that extrem dark and the extrem light. I think Lily being the complete light and innocence would fit to his daughter I guess. And the main characters are named Jack & Lily as his children so... :P
So he named his daughter after the Princess and Jack is named after the boy who comes to rescue her ;)

According to Wikipedia his son's name is John and they call him Jack.
The couple have two children, daughter Lily-Rose Melody Depp (born May 27, 1999) and son John "Jack" Christopher Depp III (born April 10, 2002).

IMDb says Jack the Ripper. JD's son was born BEFORE Pirates, so that couldn't be why.

I don't know, but if he has a girl he should name her Jill.......LOL. My name is Jill and my sister's name is Jacquelynne, but since I couldn't pronounce that name when I was little I called her Jack and still do.
