My 1999 Expedition cranks for 2-3 seconds before it starts, runs very strong. What's up?

No problems when it starts, just cranks for 3-4 seconds. Just starting doing this about a week ago.

weak battery...get one with higher cranking amps

fuel pressure isn't holding, is my guess. I assume the engine is turning over just as fast as normal. It also might not hurt to pull a plug out and take a look at it to see what condition it is in.

sounds like its not holding the pressure.have the fuel pump checked and gas cap.
