I cant believe you asked this question - it is an EXTREMELY complicated process but I will attempt to describe it below:

Ok here goes . . . Divide the numerator (top number) by the denominator (bottom number).

Voila! Instant decimal satisfaction.

1/4=.25
divide the numerator by the denominator, so divide 4 into 1. Do long division style where you create the little house. The four is on the outside and one inside. When you work out the long division, the answer is .25...which also equals 25%.

This method works for every fraction. Just make sure you have the fraction down to the lowest common denominator. For example, reduce 2/6 to 1/3 before doing the calculation.

there are two main methods.

The first is to divide the numerator (top number) by the denominator (bottom number).

Another method (which only works well on certain types of fractions) is to convert the denominator to 100.

Here's an example:

if you have 3/8. How many times does 8 go into 100, or 8 times what number is 100?

The answer is 12.5. So you can multiply 3 by 12.5 which is 37.5. Now you have 37.5/100. Move the decimal over twice, and your decimal is now 0.375.

Please note that the second method does not work well with denominators that are not factors of 100.

divide the numerator (top) by the denominator (bottom) like the others said and if u get a fraction for an answer to a question then u just have to press the fraction button on the calculator i.e. the button u press after u enter a numerator into a calculator before u enter the denominator

hope i helped!

Divide the numerator by the denominator and put a decimal point and add zeroes. Keep dividing until the decimal either ends or repeats a digit or a set of digits to set up the repeating pattern.

I did an easy one that we already know the answer to to show how it works. So one half can be written as "one half" "1/2" ".5"

Hope that helps
