If pregnancy doesnt occur, when does your temperature go back to your pre-ovulation temperature? Is it usually a day before or the day you are to start your menstrual cycle.

My temps start to go down a little a couple days before, just by a point or two, and then it stair steps down in about 3 days during my period to preovulatory temps. Your temps will probably stay way up until just a day or two before your period when your progesterone levels start to fall. Progesterone is the reason your temp goes up when you ovulate and it will stay up as long as you have progesterone. When you're pregnant, your body will keep producing progesterone to maintain the pregnancy, that's why your temp stays up. If you are pregnant than you'll have 18 days of high temps. It's actually a good way to tell if you're pregnant even though you think you got your period and it turns out to just be implantation bleeding. Good luck.

Your tempurature will usually return to normal REgardless of fertilization or not between ovulation and cycle. If however, pregnancy does occur then your tempurature will rise again after implantation.
Your body rises during ovulation, and pregnancy. Otherwise your tempurature returns to normal.

When I was doing BBT, it always went down the same day I started my period (I was actually super predictable, I'd take my temp at 7 am and start at 11:30).
