Yes .it is like you say...Miami have a tropical maritime temperature and Chicago has more of a continental temperature. I love Miami.

Both are windy.
Miami, the wind comes from the ocean.
Has odors too.
Chicago the wind comes from a lake.
Miami has more humidity.
Does not get as cold in the winter as Chicago.

Miami isn't QUITE tropical - due to it's latitide (about 25 degrees north), and it is susceptible to temperature extremes (I've seen temps in the 30s in Miami).
However, it is mild ... and I think (although, I admit I might be wrong) it is called subtropical.

ahh... don't they call it the SUNSHINE STATE !!!
I am almost certain miami has an all around temp average of 75-80 degrees. Whereas chicago is called the WINDY CITY and I am sure it's below freezing there right now...

Miami---80-90 degrees most of year
Chi-Town---0-70 degrees throughout the year
I would pick Miami any day of the week
