Do you regret it?

Broke up with them.

That probably takes some explaining, actually. It was your classic 'boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, girl falls in love with boy, girl has long-term monogamous boyfriend back home' story.

We had been friends for about four months, and lovers for two. Then her boyfriend came to visit from Australia, and I saw how happy he made her. It was also clear that me and she, as much as we loved each other, were probably not going to last forever (she wanted to move back to England eventually, I intend to move back to Canada, plus differences in desire to have children, and a few other issues).

Cue a week of soul searching, moralising, and analysing. In the end I realised that because I loved her, I wanted her to be as happy as possible. And he was going to make her happier on a much longer term than I. We could continue to be together while he was overseas, but that might risk damaging her relationship with him. So in the end, I (actually we, I discussed it with her, and she agreed) decided that it would be better to be platonic. So we broke up.

We're still friends, incidentally.

Do I regret it? Absolutely and not at all. She was a wonderful cuddler, and a fantastic lover - I miss it muchly. But she's better off this way, and I can't possibly regret making her better off - it makes me happy to know she's happy.

Stay with him for over 2 years even though he was an idiot and didn't treat me well. No, I wouldn't say I regret it.

Some things that I wouldn't repeat here. No use in regretting it, you can't change it, so use it as a learning experience.

Waited for them. I will never wait for a guy ever again. If they want to be with me than they will but I'm not sticking around unless it's made clear.

Let them stay the night. It sucked, we had to talk after sex, it took all the fun out of it.
