Few months, burning dvds no problem but in the last few weeks it will occasionally come back with "burn process failed". I've burned about 50 dvds (and a handful of cds) since I bought the machine and I've experienced this error about 5 times. It always appears to happen at the same point in the burn process but it doesn't happen everytime. I have XP and use Nero 7 via DVD Shrink to burn. I've checked Samsung website and there are no firmware updates for my model.
I haven't changed anything on my PC and I've been working with the same blank DVD+Rs (bought one pack of 50, never used anything else). Based on Nero report of error:
#31 SPTI -1135 File SCSIPassThrough.cpp, Line 290
E: CdRom0: SCSIStatus(x02) WinError(0) NeroError(-1135)
Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)
#32 CDR -1135 File Writer.cpp, Line 302
Write error
E: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552D
Any advice?

how about them $35 samsung burners from bestbuy lol

Could just be a buffer underrun error...check that you have a decent cache setting....I think it maxes out at 80mb or so in nero.

also try to limit your activites while burning....you probably already notice how slow your system starts responding during a dvd burn....especially if it's one of those 6 dvds in a row marathon.
