I plug it into the computer and there was no response at all! no hardware detection absolutely nothing, does that mean i lost the data forever???????

i have to make this clear, it is completely dead, and i don't think using software alone could fix this. it's a hardward problem, is that possible to fix???????

Does it show up under My Computer? It might just not be popping up the "Found New Hardware" dialog. Try plugging it into a different USB port. If all this fails, you might be out of luck...contact the company and ask them if they can retrieve the data, they sometimes can.
